Stanford Design EXPErience

Our SUGAR Expo event precedes the Stanford Design EXPErience on June 2, which showcases additional student work from Stanford's Mechanical Engineering Design Group courses, notably ME310. This way, you may experience two days back-to-back of unparalleled access to innovative student work and ideas outside your usual sphere.

For Participating SUGAR Faculty and Student Teams

Participating SUGAR universities will be sent a detailed schedule with location and other details. All SUGAR student teams who plan to present at the SUGAR Expo will have dedicated prep time and rehearsals the day(s) prior. In addition, several group social activities are planned, such as an evening dinner and Stanford-hosted "SuperSUDS" reception, which are included in the event fees. All local and visiting coporate liaisons (sponsors) are invited to attend a special luncheon on June 2.

In addition, all SUGAR faculty and teaching teams are kindly requested to stay through Friday morning for a final debrief and reflection session.

Foreign Guests

For those visiting Stanford from afar, Stanford's Visitor Services offers information on maps and directions, public transportation, local airports, as well as local places to stay and a lodging guide.

Directions & Parking

SUGAR Expo activities will take place at the center of the Stanford University campus.

If driving, free campus parking is available at Galvez Field (Galvez and Campus Drive). You will need a SUGAR event code for free parking. This code will be sent by email prior to the event to all registered attendees. All SUGAR schools may use this parking code.

From the parking lot, it is a 12-15 minute walk to the event locations. Otherwise, you may take a free Stanford Marguerite Shuttle available nearby to the Galvez Event parking lot. The Alumni Center stop for the "Y" Marguerite Shuttle is in front of the Alumni Center. It departs from the Alumni Center stop and arrives at the Y2E2 stop at Via Ortega (see Y line schedule).

To return, take the "X" Marguerite Shuttle (see X line schedule). It departs every 20 minutes from the Via Ortega stop and returns to the Alumni Center.
